Welcome to Bigfork, Montana, truly “the last best place!” A little history so you can get acquainted with the individuals who are totally committed to representing their clients.
Tom and Katie initially relocated to Bigfork in 1987 to manage the sales and marketing efforts of the Eagle Bend Golf Community and transitioned into the ownership and development of Trails West Real Estate, the Flathead Valley’s leading residential real estate company.
We love Bigfork! We have always believed in supporting this wonderful community by being involved in a variety of local organizations. We have served on the local school board, the Bigfork Playhouse Foundation Board, the Chamber of Commerce, the Bigfork Community Development Board, The Eagle Bend Scholarship Board, among others. With the help of some great friends, family and excellent teachers, we raised two wonderful children who are both attending private colleges in southern California, which is further incentive to go the extra mile for our clients.
We love real estate! We also believe in the importance of supporting and helping to improve our livelihood, the real estate industry. We serve, or have served on the local Board of Realtors and the Montana Board of Realtors as members on Legislative committees, Political Action committees, Professional Standard committees, educational committees, among others. Katie currently teaches the Ethics training for all new agents. Tom was the Flathead Valley Salesperson of the Year in 1993, 2001 and 2004 and the Montana Association of Realtors Salesperson of the year in 2004. Just so you know he hasn’t been working hard the last seven years, they discontinued the honor in 2006!
We love the lifestyle! The Flathead Valley offers unparalleled recreational opportunities. In his free time, Tom can be seen flailing his way out of the trees and sand traps at Eagle Bend and or one of the other excellent courses around the valley. His passion for golf has worn off on Katie as she now has contracted the golf bug. However, her real passion is tennis. She plays locally with a group of other ladies and has been known to travel around the state competing in USTA tournaments. We live on the Flathead River, just above Flathead Lake, so of course we find time to spend some time on the water. With two great down-hill ski areas within 45 minutes and hundreds of miles of cross-country trails, we do make time to get out and enjoy the snow. Then there are the thousands of miles of hiking trails through the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountain Wilderness areas and, of course, Glacier National Park!
You can see why we appreciate that the sun comes up before 5 am and doesn’t set until after ten pm in the middle of summer.
